Total number of Births                           100 = 100%

Vaginal deliveries                                     82 = 82% 

      Normal spontaneous vaginal              79= 79%

      Vacuum extraction                               3 = 3% 

      Vaginal births after previous C/S    1 successful out of 3 attempts 

      

Of Those Who Had Vaginal Deliveries

53 women had an intact perineum, or no stitches = 65%

14 had a 1degree perineal laceration = 18%

10 had a 2 degree perineal laceration = 12%

2 had a 3 degree perineal laceration = 2%

0 had a 4 degree perineal laceration = 0%

3 had median episiotomies = 3%

 

Of those who had Vaginal Deliveries

62 had no medication or anesthesia = 75%

13 had epidural anesthesia = 15%

1 had medication for pain relief, then epidural= 1%

8 had medication but no epidural = 9%

 

Total Cesarean Deliveries         18 = 18%

Primary Cesareans Deliveries = 15

Repeat Cesarean Deliveries = 3

    Reasons for Cesareans       

   Got to full dilation but unable to push baby out = 2

    Failure to progress in labor = 4

   Oblique lie due to fibroid = 1

   Previous Cesarean, 42 weeks, no labor = 1 

   Fetal Indication  = 10

          Breech = 4

          Non-reassuring fetal heart rate tracing = 6

 

Of CBS Clients in 2007:

56 - women were first-time mothers

32 - had their second baby

11 - had their third baby

1- had her  fourth baby

Women who wanted Birth Center and were eligible at term = 74

55 delivered Birth Center = 74%

19 Transferred to Labor & Delivery in labor = 26%
