Beverly entered the field of lactation consulting after she had her first child. She learned first-hand the challenges and rewards of becoming a parent and wanted a profession that would help other women make the transition.
| Beverly Solow, IBCLC, has been assisting nursing mothers
as a Board Certified Lactaction Consultant since 1991. After working with Breastfeeding
Assistance Service from 1991 to 1995, she practiced independently, and then co-founded
Wellcare, Inc., a group practice of lactation consultants. After nearly two years with
Wellcare, she has returned to practice on her own. Beverly entered the field of lactation consulting after she had her first child. She learned first-hand the challenges and rewards of becoming a parent and wanted a profession that would help other women make the transition. |

| Beverly finds her work gratifying, and comments,
"Breastfeeding can be an important part of the transition to parenthood. Sometimes a
little assistance can make the difference between a mother who is struggling and a mother
who enjoys breastfeeding her baby." Beverly has two (breastfed) children, both delivered by CBS Midwifery. |
